AI/RPA Specialist Intern | Kadiak, LLC

The Tone:
This is an internship at Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, with on-site work options in JBLE, Hampton, VA, or Chantilly, VA. Kadiak supports government customers, and Koniag Government Services provides enterprise solutions and professional services to Federal Government Agencies. This role supports Air Combat Command’s mission to accelerate AI adoption. The intern will prototype and transition AI/RPA workflows that deliver measurable operational impact, directly contributing to critical efforts through rapid prototyping informed by operator feedback.

• Mission: Prototypes and transitions AI/RPA workflows to deliver measurable operational impact for Air Combat Command’s AI acceleration mission.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Automation Discovery & Prototyping: Support embedded teams to identify repetitive, data-intensive tasks, document requirements directly with end-users, and build functional prototypes in Python, UiPath, or Power Automate.
• AI Platform Integration: Support the integration of enterprise AI tools into mission workflows, assisting with prompt engineering, testing, and validation for GenAI use cases under technical lead’s direction.
• Documentation Maintenance: Maintain solution documentation, including user guides, SOPs, and knowledge base articles for ACC’s reference library.
• Impact & Strategic Reporting: Quantify time savings, error reduction, and throughput gains for each prototype, and support reporting on utilization metrics, training completion rates, and adoption trends to inform leadership decisions.
• Training & Facilitation: Assist in developing training content covering AI fundamentals, ethical use, and platform operations, and support hackathon facilitation and hands-on workshops alongside Mobile Training Teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, AI/ML, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Working proficiency in Python; exposure to at least one RPA platform; foundational understanding of data structures, ML concepts, and scripting for automation.
• Skills: Python programming, RPA platform operations, data structures, machine learning concepts, scripting for automation.
• Bonus: Coursework or project experience in NLP, computer vision, or GenAI/LLM applications; familiarity with cloud environments for ML workload deployment; exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint-based delivery; interest in defense, intelligence, or national security missions; relevant technical certifications.
