Intern: AI Native Process Automation | Phamily

The Tone:
This is a full-time summer internship at Phamily, an organization that is part of Jaan Health, located in either NYC or Chicago. Jaan Health operates as a leading AI-based care management company, utilizing its proprietary technology to empower healthcare providers. The company’s core platform, Phamily, utilizes clinically tested AI and user-friendly technology to transform chronic disease management. This intern role is pivotal in supporting Phamily’s rapid growth by focusing on the identification, design, and implementation of AI-native automation solutions for operational processes. The work will directly contribute to enhancing efficiency and optimizing various business functions within a mission-driven healthcare services company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Automate Workflows: Systematically define problems and implement AI-powered solutions to automate or streamline high-volume operational processes, starting with foundational workflows like travel coordination and scheduling.
• Design and Optimize: Support the comprehensive design, rigorous testing, and continuous optimization of AI-enabled workflows and business process automations across operational and corporate functions.
• Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with Operations, Product, HR, Clinical, and leadership teams to proactively identify repetitive workflows and pinpoint opportunities for significant automation and efficiency gains.
• Evaluate and Research: Assist in evaluating and implementing new AI tools, automation platforms, and workflow solutions, while also conducting research on emerging AI technologies and best practices relevant to healthcare operations.
• Document and Analyze: Document current-state processes and contribute to designing future-state AI-native workflows and operational playbooks, analyzing workflow performance metrics to recommend data-driven process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in or actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree at an accredited University or College, indicating a foundational academic pursuit.
• Experience: Demonstrated proactive initiative, independent of coursework, to learn and experiment with AI-powered “vibe coding” platforms such as Claude Code and OpenClaw, specifically for automating workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
• Skills: Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable navigating ambiguity and learning quickly to apply technology for practical solutions; exhibits excellent written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with a strong growth mindset and leadership potential.
