Senior Manager, FCC Ops | FWD Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at FWD Group, located in Malaysia, specifically supporting FWD Takaful Berhad. FWD Group is a pan-Asian life and health insurance business that aims to change how people feel about insurance through a customer-led and tech-enabled approach. This role is crucial for establishing, maintaining, and enhancing the financial crime compliance (FCC) operational framework within the Takaful business, ensuring robust governance and control effectiveness aligned with regulatory and group standards.

• Mission: To establish, oversee, and enhance financial crime compliance controls and governance within operations, ensuring regulatory adherence and proactive risk management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• AFC Governance & Control Oversight: Establish and maintain AFC governance within Line 1.5, overseeing the consistent execution of key AML/CFT controls across Operations, including CDD/EDD, name screening, transaction monitoring, and STR processes.
• EDD Oversight & Quality Assurance: Oversee end-to-end Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes for high-risk customers, conducting quality reviews and ensuring clear audit trails and robust justification for decisions.
• Incident Management & Issue Governance: Lead the end-to-end AFC incident management process, ensuring incidents are identified, classified, escalated, and resolved in accordance with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
• Root Cause Analysis & Remediation: Drive root cause analysis to identify underlying control weaknesses and ensure effective, sustainable remediation actions are implemented to address systemic gaps and prevent recurrence.
• Gap Identification & AFC Initiatives: Proactively identify control gaps, emerging risks, and process inefficiencies, leading AFC initiatives such as process standardization, system enhancements, and automation to align with regulatory developments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of degree or equivalent in Insurance, Banking & Finance, Law, or related disciplines, with a focus on AML/CFT, Compliance, or Operations.
• Experience: Minimum 8-12 years of experience in financial services, with specific experience in incident management, EDD oversight, and control governance.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis, proven ability to drive initiatives and manage stakeholders, and strong communication skills to engage senior management and regulators effectively.
• Bonus: Experience in insurance/takaful operations and transformation initiatives, along with proficiency in MS Office and/or any data analytics tool.
