Job Description

Position: AEWM Design Intern
Department: Creative Services
Reporting To: Graphic Designer Art Director
Location: Topeka, KS – Onsite

Overview:
This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience with an award-winning graphic design team, focusing on creative projects and branding. The Design Intern will collaborate with creative teams to perform updates and revisions on graphic, web, and print design materials for clients. The ideal candidate possesses a strong attention to detail, can thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working collaboratively with others.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
• Make edits to print and web designs, including text changes and graphic revisions.
• Execute essential design projects such as agendas, notecards, invitations, announcements, email signatures, and email headers.
• Maintain live client websites by making necessary updates.
• Prepare files accurately for print vendors.
• Edit and refine PowerPoint presentations.
• Upload design files to the compliance team for review.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience You’ll Bring (Required Skills and Qualifications):
• Some practical experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and XD.
• Strong customer relationship skills, demonstrated through effective verbal and written communication.
• The ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
• A proactive willingness to learn and an ambition to exceed daily tasks.
• Capability to interact professionally with diverse personality types and all levels of staff.
• Excellent time management skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with a strong attention to detail.

Bonus Points (Preferred Skills and Qualifications):
• Knowledge in digital design, including HTML, Dreamweaver, and WordPress.
• Currently or previously enrolled in a secondary education program.
