Job Description:
Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Internship. This internship involves assisting in various tasks related to the manufacturing and analysis of components, including:
• Assisting in both chemical and mechanical analysis of components.
• Machining prototype parts and test specimens.
• Operating and maintaining additive manufacturing machines to maximize machine up-time and production throughout.
• Performing post-processing steps of completed AM jobs (cleaning, surface treatments, part separation, machining, and various manual processes).
• Tracking related consumable supplies and alerting responsible personnel if additional supplies are required.
• Collaborating with the team on process improvements.
• Following standardized file systems, traceability documentation for all machine-related repair/anomaly reported incidents.
• Meeting both quality and schedule expectations.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment adhering to the 5S Principle.
Qualifications:
• Required:
• High School diploma, actively enrolled or received an Associates Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Southfield, MI (Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).
• Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR.
• Preferred:
• Experience setting up and operating additive manufacturing and machining equipment.
• Experience with inspection equipment and gaging methods such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs etc.
• Prior manufacturing experience with a focus on a close attention to detail.
