The TL;DR

• Pay: $20.50–$27.59 hourly
• Team: Supports the Cardiology Department at The Lahey Clinic in Danvers, MA.
• Mission: Provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient operations and positive interactions for patients, families, and staff within the Cardiology Department.
• Tech Stack: Computer systems, web-based applications, Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient & Visitor Engagement: Answer and screen telephone calls, take accurate messages, direct calls to appropriate personnel, greet and guide patients, families, visitors, and staff, and provide clear, accurate information within established guidelines.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule patient appointments using designated tools and resources, coordinate ancillary appointments and procedures with other hospital staff, and manage calendars and meeting schedules for assigned staff, assisting with preparations for department programs.
• Document Management: Prepare and type correspondence and various documents according to quality standards, ensuring proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling, draft routine communications, and compile and distribute necessary reports and information.
• Clerical Operations: Perform routine administrative tasks such as opening and sorting mail, delivering and retrieving materials, photocopying, sorting, collating, and distributing documents, while also organizing and maintaining department files, records, and databases.
• Patient Record Support: Update patient demographic and insurance information, obtain specialist referrals and patient materials from referral sources, prepare and maintain patient records for clinical activities and physicians, and assist licensed practitioners by queuing prescriptions for renewal.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 0-1 years related work experience required. Experience with computer systems is necessary, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Positive and effective customer service, close attention to detail for accurate task completion, strong verbal and written communication for correspondence and interactions, and organizational skills for managing files and schedules.
