Acquisitions Associate | Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors, located in the Metro Detroit, Michigan market, specifically for their Corporate Headquarters. Sun Communities specializes in the acquisition and management of various real estate properties. This role is crucial for supporting the company’s growth by performing detailed financial analysis of potential acquisitions, identifying new targets, and collaborating across the department while leading select deals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Interpret and analyze financial information for prospective acquisitions, including income statements, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
• Research: Conduct appropriate research to gather required information such as market surveys, competitive analysis, and internal metrics.
• Recommend: Analyze gathered data and recommend specific actions based on findings to support management’s quest for accretive acquisitions.
• Engage: Initiate phone contact and maintain proper follow-up with assigned customers, including brokers, owners, or internal team members.
• Report: Prepare various reports detailing financial due diligence within the Acquisition department and ensure accurate and timely follow-up on pending acquisitions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 years in financial analysis and/or accounting experience.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, high-level expertise with Excel and spreadsheet skills, and critical thinking & decision-making ability.
• Bonus: Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities, ability to work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues, a valid driver’s license, and ability to travel 15-25% by car or plane with overnight stays.
