A/R Accountant 1 | Morrison Products, Inc.

This is an in-person role at Morrison Products, Inc. The company depends on precise financial operations to maintain its fiscal stability and serve its customers effectively. This position is vital for the accurate and timely application of cash, diligent management of customer credit, and consistent support of the overall Accounts Receivable function, directly contributing to the company’s operational efficiency.

• Mission: Owns the accurate processing of daily cash receipts and credit review maintenance to ensure timely payment application and manage customer credit risk.
• Tech Stack: Billtrust, QAD system, Clover, Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Application Processing: Accurately process and apply daily cash receipts by reviewing Billtrust payments, verifying remittances, templating incorrect postings, and matching data to the QAD system.
• Daily Financial Reconciliation: Post daily deposits, reconcile the daily bank report, and complete and balance the AR Report to ensure financial accuracy.
• Credit Management Support: Create and monitor the credit hold report throughout the day, submitting it to the AR Lead for approval and communicating account status changes to relevant A/R accountants.
• Invoice Delivery Verification: Confirm the successful nightly delivery of customer invoices through the auto-invoicing batch job and report any processing issues to the AR Lead.
• Payment Notification & Handling: Notify A/R accountants, customer service, production, and shipping upon receipt of CWO order payments, and process physical checks by mailing them to the appropriate lockbox.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate degree in a specialized or technical field; foundational knowledge of general accounting, accounting theory, and cost accounting concepts.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of related work experience in an accounting or finance support role.
• Skills: High accuracy with details, discretion in handling confidential information, and strong organizational capabilities.
