About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a fast-paced and growing organization. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing our financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all payment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently process a high volume of expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform thorough account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage the end-to-end process of vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records, adhering to established accounting principles.
- Daily review of invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate authorization.
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries to reflect financial transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across various departments to ensure seamless financial operations and policy compliance.
- Actively contribute to enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance and accounting operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling Expense Reports and fundamental operational accounting and payment processes.
- Possess strong Analytical Skills and proven problem-solving abilities to critically evaluate invoices and financial documents for accuracy and potential discrepancies.
- Solid understanding of and practical experience with core Finance and Accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with preparing Journal Entries and familiarity with relevant financial systems or software.
- Exceptional attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and a strong ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective collaboration with team members and external vendors.
- Proficiency with relevant accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is preferred; however, equivalent relevant experience will be given full consideration.
