The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Eversource Energy, located in Berlin, Connecticut and Westwood, MA. Eversource Energy’s accounting organization plays a crucial role in preparing financial data for various regulated and non-regulated system companies. This position allows highly motivated accounting students to gain practical experience and contribute to essential financial operations within a changing industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Filings Support: Assist in preparation of SEC, Federal Regulatory Commission, and state regulatory filings.
• Financial Review: Assist with the review and analysis of month-end financial statements and reports.
• Closing Cycle: Participate in the monthly accounting closing cycle, including preparation of journal entries and analysis and reconciliation of accounts.
• Rate Development: Develop corporate cost loading rates.
• Issue Research: Assist in the research of accounting issues as identified.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong interest and desire to learn and apply computer applications.
• Skills: Excellent communication, judgment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of accounting theory.
• Bonus: Preference given to students who have finished their junior year.
