Accounting Specialist | Russell Tobin

For this specific role, the Accounting Specialist will play a critical part in supporting one of Russell Tobin’s clients by ensuring the precise and timely handling of financial transactions and the meticulous maintenance of accounts and ledgers. This position is essential for sustaining the financial accuracy and operational integrity of the client’s accounting functions.

• Mission: This person will ensure the accurate, complete, and timely processing of financial transactions and the diligent maintenance of various accounts and ledgers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Transaction Processing: Accurately process and maintain a diverse range of accounting documents, including accounts payable, journal vouchers, vendor invoices, expense reimbursements, ledgers, statements, and billings.
• Account Reconciliation & Maintenance: Reconcile and diligently maintain various financial accounts and ledgers, ensuring the completeness and timeliness of all transactions.
• Discrepancy Research & Resolution: Conduct thorough research on any identified discrepancies within accounts or transactions, making appropriate corrections or adjustments to maintain data integrity.
• Data Verification & Reporting: Post, check, and verify financial data, then run and prepare routine financial reports and analyses for operational insights.
• Inquiry Management: Respond to and effectively resolve inquiries related to financial transactions and account statuses.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Career professional holding a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating foundational knowledge in bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a preference for candidates who possess initial Workday knowledge.
• Skills: Demonstrated fluency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to utilize formulas, pivot tables, and conditional formatting, alongside required proficiency in OneNote and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Bonus: Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles, proven ability to identify and resolve financial exceptions and interpret complex data, strong capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and experience specifically with reconciliation, General Ledger, and Banking functions. Candidates with five or more years of experience are also highly valued.
