The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at a mission-driven law firm, located in Boston Metro, MA, with a Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm schedule. The firm is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join its growing accounting and finance team. This position is crucial for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to meaningful organizational goals within a collaborative professional services environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable invoices, vouchers, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
• Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable transactions, collections, and payment posting.
• Client Billing: Assist with client billing, invoice preparation, pre-bills, and billing adjustments.
• Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, WIP reports, receivables reports, and collections reports.
• Close Support: Support month-end close and year-end close activities, including general ledger postings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience: Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience using ERP systems, accounting software, or financial management platforms. Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience in professional services, legal, consulting, or corporate accounting. Familiarity with SurePoint/LMS, CentreSuite, or comparable accounting and billing software. Experience with general ledger, billing systems, collections, and financial reporting.
