The Tone:
This is a 6-month contract role at nextSource, initially onsite in Dallas, TX, then transitioning to a hybrid schedule. The client is a supplier that offers innovative packaging solutions to beauty brands, operating within a competitive market. This Staff Accountant position is designed for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a supportive team environment and is eager for professional development. What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Actively participate in the full scope of accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) processes, which includes diligently completing collection emails and calls to customers.
• Close: Prepare precise journal entries, conduct comprehensive account reconciliations, and perform detailed financial analyses essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data during month-end close.
• Comply: Regularly participate in monthly Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and audits, upholding strict adherence to compliance standards.
• Improve: Spearhead projects specifically designed to contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes, and systematically develop and maintain documented procedures for operational consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze: Assist management with financial analyses by thoroughly interpreting complex financial data, identifying key trends, and formulating informed recommendations to support strategic decisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in accounting, specifically within multi-division environments.
• Skills:
• Meticulous attention to detail, crucial for ensuring accuracy and completeness in all financial tasks and documentation, and adept at recognizing inconsistencies and discrepancies in data.
• A logical, systematic, and sequential approach to problem-solving within financial contexts.
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all payroll, financial, and employment-related data.
• Bonus: Experience with Salesforce and Blackline.
