The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AccruePartners, located in Charlotte, NC, offering a hybrid work arrangement. AccruePartners is a Charlotte-based industrial real estate developer with a dynamic portfolio actively involved in acquisition, redevelopment, and leasing across the Carolinas and beyond. This crucial position will establish and enhance the company’s accounting infrastructure, controls, and reporting processes. The Bookkeeper’s accurate financial data and insights will directly inform ownership-level decisions, playing a vital role in supporting the company’s significant growth and ongoing professionalization of its back-office operations.

• Team: Partners closely with the Assistant Controller and has direct access to senior leadership, including the COO, Fractional CFO, and Director of Business Operations, within a small, tight-knit leadership team.
• Mission: Own all accounts payable and receivable functions, improve financial processes, and provide accurate reporting essential for the organization’s long-term financial stewardship and strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage AP/AR Functions: Serve as the primary point of contact and actively manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.
• Support Month-End Close: Partner closely with the Assistant Controller to contribute to month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and audit preparations.
• Improve Financial Processes: Proactively identify opportunities and implement improvements to existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy across operations.
• Provide Financial Reporting: Generate precise and timely financial reports that directly support the organization’s long-term financial stewardship and inform ownership-level strategic decisions.
• Build Accounting Infrastructure: Develop and refine accounting infrastructure, internal controls, and reporting mechanisms to effectively support the business as it continues to grow and scale.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An experienced accounting professional with a robust understanding of core accounting principles, particularly in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and supporting comprehensive financial operations. This individual should be prepared to operate in a high-visibility role, acting as a financial partner rather than just a processor.
• Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in the complete management of AP/AR functions, coupled with a proven ability to support broader accounting activities such as month-end close, reconciliations, and audits. Experience contributing to process improvements within a growing or evolving organization is highly valued.
• Skills: Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable management; strong capability in financial reconciliation and general ledger support; adept at identifying and implementing financial process improvements; skilled in accurate financial data compilation and reporting.
• Bonus: A proactive individual who thrives in bringing structure to ambiguous processes without overcomplicating solutions. Possesses a strategic mindset coupled with a willingness to be hands-on, aiming to drive financial partnership within the business. Experience within the real estate development or industrial property sector is a plus.
