Accounting Intern | OPCO Skilled Management
The Tone:
This is a paid, remote internship for an Accounting Intern at OPCO Skilled Management. Candidates must reside in Texas, Indiana, Missouri, or New Mexico to be eligible for this 3-month position. OPCO Skilled Management provides critical support services, and this role is vital for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting department. You will contribute directly to financial reporting processes, account reconciliation, and data analysis, with equipment provided and an opportunity for full-time hire.

• Mission: Assist the accounting department in financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and data analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting and support operational efficiency.
• Tech Stack: MS Word, Excel, Accounting database computer system
What You’ll Actually Do
• Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
• Audit Support: Develop audit schedules and update financial information on a monthly basis.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile various bank accounts (operations, sweep, payroll, investment) and other related asset general ledger accounts.
• Journal Entry Management: Prepare journal entries for the general ledger and various subsidiary ledgers by compiling, researching, and analyzing data regarding updates needed.
• Balance Maintenance: Maintain account balances and reconcile differences between various account balances and external sources of comparison.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level career level.
• Experience: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and an Accounting database computer system.
• Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information while interfacing effectively with all levels of management. Possess good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, meet deadlines, and follow through on work assignments.
• Bonus: BA/BS degree in Finance and/or Accounting is preferred.
