The Tone:
This is an internship at Texas Gas Transmission, located in Houston, TX. Boardwalk, a limited partnership operating in the midstream natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, provides essential transportation and storage services to its customers across 13 states. With 14,000 miles of pipeline and storage assets, the company ensures reliable market connectivity for producers and end-users of natural gas, supporting power generation, home heating, and petrochemical feedstocks. This Accounting Intern role is vital for supporting the financial operations of an organization deeply committed to environmental stewardship, safety, and compliance, contributing to sustainable energy delivery and community support.

• Mission: This role supports critical accounting functions by contributing to project, commercial, and financial reporting activities through a rotational internship.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support financial tracking: Assist the Project Accounting group with financial documentation and analysis related to ongoing projects for a portion of the internship.
• Aid commercial operations: Provide support to the Commercial Accounting group, contributing to billing, revenue recognition, or other commercial transactions for a portion of the internship.
• Contribute to financial statements: Help the Financial Reporting group prepare and analyze financial data for internal and external reports for a portion of the internship.
• Gain rotational experience: Engage in a structured rotational program across different accounting functions, gaining diverse practical experience in the Houston office.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with various accounting professionals to understand and contribute to daily departmental operations within the Accounting Department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current Junior or Senior student pursuing an accounting or finance degree. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, alongside demonstrated finance or accounting focused coursework.
• Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
• Highly organized approach with strong motivation and analytical thinking capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient problem-solving skills to address accounting challenges.
