Summer 2027 Accounting Intern | Dairy Farmers of America

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Accounting: Perform various fundamental accounting tasks to support the daily financial operations of the cooperative.
• Reconciliations: Conduct account reconciliations to verify financial data accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Ad Hoc Analysis and Research: Assist the accounting team with specific analytical projects and research tasks as needed.
• Journal Entry preparation and Posting: Prepare and accurately post journal entries to ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for a current university student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, specifically targeting a junior or senior academic standing in the fall of 2027 with a dedicated focus in Accounting.
• Experience: Demonstrated academic progress towards an Accounting degree, meeting the requirement of being a junior or senior by Fall 2027. The internship is expected to run from mid-May through mid-August, with potential schedule adjustments.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of general accounting principles, ability to perform financial reconciliations, basic analytical and research capabilities, and knowledge of proper journal entry preparation and posting.
