The Tone:
This is an internship at Winchester Ammunition, located in Independence, MO. Winchester Ammunition, a division of Olin, is a global leader in ammunition manufacturing, with a strong presence in the firearms and shooting sports industry. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Finance and Accounting team, contributing to critical financial operations. The intern will support key processes like financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities, developing essential technical and analytical skills in a real-world business environment.

• Mission: Support the Finance and Accounting team by assisting with financial reporting, account reconciliations, data analysis, and month-end close activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close: Assist with the monthly financial close process and complete assigned accounting tasks.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries while accurately maintaining all supporting documentation.
• Reconciliations: Support account reconciliations and actively investigate any identified discrepancies or variances.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to efficiently collect, validate, and organize financial information.
• Special Projects: Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, various reporting requests, and designated special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level intern currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, majoring in an undergraduate or graduate Finance, Accounting, or business-related degree program, having completed at least sophomore year (60 credit hours).
• Experience: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required, maintained throughout the internship. Candidates must possess a valid US Driver’s license and be a U.S. citizen eligible for access to ITAR controlled technical data and successful vetting as an Employee Possessor.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial reporting, account reconciliations, data analysis, and preparing journal entries. Strong technical and analytical abilities are essential.
• Bonus: Preferred experience or knowledge within the ammunition, firearms, and shooting sports industry.
