Accounting Intern | Continental

The Tone:
This is a part-time Accounting Intern position at Continental, tentatively scheduled to begin in early-mid November 2026. Continental is a leading tire manufacturer and industry specialist, founded in 1871. This internship offers the opportunity to support various accounting and finance functions, providing practical experience in a professional business environment and exposure to financial processes, systems, reporting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives that support daily operations.

• Mission: Support daily accounting and finance operations by assisting with financial processes, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process invoices using SAP Vendor Invoice Management (VIM).
• Account Reconciliation: Assist with GR/IR account reconciliation activities, and review and reconcile vendor statements.
• Fixed Asset Management: Support fixed asset inventory cycle counts and record maintenance, and perform asset tagging and scanning activities within PASAM.
• Financial Entries: Prepare and post journal entries as assigned.
• Support Tickets & Requests: Submit and monitor SIVIS service tickets, and follow up on Electronic Service Requests (ESRs) and related accounting items.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and be of sophomore standing or higher.
• Experience: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required for this position; Continental will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.
• Skills: Ability to work onsite a minimum of 20 hours per week during normal business hours (Monday through Friday) and commit to completing the full duration of the internship assignment. Successful candidates will be self-managed and detail-oriented.
• Bonus: Availability to work 30+ hours per week. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel. A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
