Accounts Payable Intern | Compeer Financial

The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Compeer Financial, located in Mankato, MN, with a hybrid work model. Compeer Financial is a member-owned cooperative providing financial services to support agriculture and rural communities across Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. This role is crucial for assisting the Finance department with essential accounts payable entries, expense reports, and general ledger tasks, directly supporting internal clients and the organization’s financial operations. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time through Spring 2027, with potential for full-time in Summer 2027
• Location: Hybrid – Mankato, MN
• Pay: $19–$20 hourly
• Mission: To support Compeer Financial’s internal clients by accurately processing accounts payable entries, expense reports, and general ledger tasks within the Finance department.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Word, Access

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process: Review, code, and complete entries for accounts payable and expense reports.
• Record: Prepare and finalize general ledger journal entries.
• Reconcile: Conduct various reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
• Manage: Balance the weekly deposit.
• Distribute: Prepare and mail checks as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards an Accounting or Finance degree, with at least 1-2 years of coursework completed.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in using software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access.
• Skills: Exceptional client service, teamwork, and time management abilities.
