Accounting Intern (Summer 2027) | Zipline

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Zipline, located in South San Francisco, CA. Zipline designs, builds, and operates the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering essential goods via drones globally. This role is crucial for ensuring Zipline’s global operations remain efficient and audit-ready by handling fundamental corporate accounting tasks. The intern will contribute directly to the financial integrity of a company with a significant real-world impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Processes: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records for core accounting processes.
• Financial Close Support: Compile data, run reports, and prepare schedules to support monthly and quarterly financial closes.
• System Data Management: Support data entry, analysis, and cleanup projects within Zipline’s finance systems.
• Fixed Asset Accounting: Partner with country operations and manufacturing teams to track, capitalize, and reconcile fixed assets.
• Process Collaboration: Collaborate with the broader Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to track transactions and streamline financial processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completed the second year of undergraduate studies in Accounting; Masters and PhDs are also eligible. This is an Entry-Level position.
• Experience: None specified, but familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets is required, with a bonus for experience using formulas or pivot tables.
• Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, eager to apply learned concepts, asks good questions, enjoys problem-solving, reliable, resourceful, and motivated to learn.
