Job Description: Accounting Intern

This internship at Crescent Electric will provide experience in various accounting functions. The intern will play a key role in facilitating vendor payments using corporate purchase cards, reconciling corporate purchase credit card purchases and payments, and reconciling fleet cards. Responsibilities also include assisting with month-end and year-end reconciliations of general ledger accounts, preparing audit work papers and tax work papers.

Primary Duties:

• Pay credit card invoices.
• Approve vendor invoices for payment.
• Assist with tax documentation and work papers.
• Assist with monthly general ledger reconciliation of various accounts.
• Complete the deposit portion of bank reconciliation.
• Monitor Purchase Card outstanding payment authorizations and reconciliation.
• Act as a liaison between branch personnel and vendors for credit card payments.
• Assist employees with Fleet Card issues.
• Prepare internal audit work papers.

Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at a college or university.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with a detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands:

The position involves a mix of sitting, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds). Specific visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay Details:

The hourly rate for this position is $15.00.
