The Tone:
This is a fixed-term internship at Eversource Energy, located in Berlin, CT and Westwood, MA. Eversource Energy is a prominent organization in the energy industry, operating various regulated and non-regulated system companies. This role provides an opportunity for highly motivated students to contribute to the Accounting organization by performing diverse responsibilities associated with preparing financial data. The position is essential for supporting the company’s financial reporting and analysis functions within a dynamic industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Assist in the preparation of SEC, Federal Regulatory Commission, and state regulatory filings.
• Analysis: Assist with the review and analysis of month-end financial statements and reports.
• Closing: Participate in the monthly accounting closing cycle, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Costing: Develop corporate cost loading rates.
• Research: Assist in the research of identified accounting issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Academic experience consistent with a student pursuing an Accounting degree; preference for students who have finished their junior year.
• Skills: Excellent communication, judgment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of accounting theory; proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and Word.
• Bonus: Strong interest and desire to learn and apply computer applications.
