The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Enact Mortgage Insurance, located in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid schedule. Enact provides private mortgage insurance, helping lenders across the U.S. enable homeownership. This role is crucial for students to gain hands-on experience by supporting core accounting activities, financial reporting, and compliance objectives within a highly regulated industry. What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with month-end close activities, SOX control testing, and account reconciliations.
• Complete ad hoc projects that support the achievement of financial reporting and compliance objectives.
• Perform data analysis, documentation, testing, and research for GAAP, SOX, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Gain practical exposure to the specific accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements of a highly regulated industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop a broad understanding of the finance and mortgage insurance industry.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising Senior or Graduate student actively pursuing an Accounting degree and planning to pursue a CPA license.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong foundation in accounting principles with an understanding of GAAP concepts.
• Skills: Microsoft Excel proficiency; strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
