Intern-Accounting | Tallgrass

The Tone:
This is a temporary full-time internship at Tallgrass, with a hybrid work model based out of their Lakewood office. What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Assist in preparing periodic internal forecasts for financial planning and analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in regulatory reporting and third-party transactions.
• Perform transaction research and document explanations for various financial activities.
• Prepare financial statements and related footnotes, including documenting formal tie-outs for reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Students actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience is required beyond academic study.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for accounting tasks.
• Bonus: Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team; capacity to take on additional tasks and adjust priorities on short notice; passion for innovation and a continuous drive to improve processes; ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines; ability to think strategically and manage change.
