Accounting & Finance Intern (Summer 2027) | Continental Resources

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Continental Resources, located in Oklahoma City, OK. The intern’s contributions are essential for supporting various accounting and finance departments by processing critical financial data, preparing accurate entries, and analyzing key financial information.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Processing: Meticulously process monthly financial data, encompassing accurate inputting, coding, scanning, copying, and the systematic distribution of reports and essential information.
• Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare precise journal entries, ensuring each is supported by all applicable backup documentation and correctly assigned to proposed accounts and cost centers.
• Financial Information Analysis: Compile and rigorously analyze diverse financial information to accurately prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts.
• Sales Accounting: Rigorously analyze and meticulously account for all payments received from oil and gas sales, encompassing both operated and non-operated properties.
• Billing Compliance: Scrutinize Joint Interest billings to verify complete compliance with established Joint Operating Agreements and prevailing industry guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Current enrollment in a 4-year college or university, actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance. Must be eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation.
• Experience: Proficient computer skills, including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Experience applying basic financial concepts and accounting principles.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, proven ability to work as a team player, strong customer focus, and effective time management.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
