Accounting & Finance Co-Op/Intern – Summer 2027 | The Mosaic Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid Co-Op/Internship at The Mosaic Company, located at the FishHawk site in Lithia, FL, within the Greater Tampa Bay Area. The Mosaic Company is the world’s leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash, two essential nutrients for global agriculture, employing over 13,000 people across six countries. This role offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting and finance, contributing to the daily activities and special projects of a global leader that helps the world grow the food it needs.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Hybrid. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week.
• Location: Hybrid – Greater Tampa Bay Area
• Mission: Assist the Accounting team by completing daily activities, supporting monthly and quarterly closings, and working on special projects to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), visualization/reporting tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotational Learning: Participate in rotational assignments across various Corporate Accounting functions, including Inventory Costing, Revenue, Reporting, Leasing, and Financial Analysis.
• Operational Support: Contribute to day-to-day accounting tasks such as data and cost analysis, posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and data management.
• Project Engagement: Undertake special projects as assigned and assist with critical monthly and quarterly closing responsibilities.
• Cross-functional Communication: Communicate effectively with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
• Organizational Integration: Integrate into a real-life work environment, participate in department meetings, and adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles, and priorities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Junior level or above by May 2027, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Entry-Level.
• Experience: 1-2 years of preferred experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or prior work experience; previous internship or co-op experience is also preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), basic computer skills, and experience working in a team environment.
• Bonus: Proficiency with visualization/reporting tools, effective verbal communication skills, 2.75 GPA or higher, and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
