Accounting Clerk | Radius Recycling

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Radius Recycling, located in Portland, Oregon. Radius Recycling supports metals revenue, inventory, and autos accounting teams within its operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes, supporting internal and external audits, and maintaining strong financial controls, contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures.

• Team: Reports functionally to the Assistant Controller and Autos Accounting Supervisor, supporting the Metals Revenue, Inventory, and Autos Accounting teams.
• Mission: Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes, support audits, maintain strong financial controls, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting procedures.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (preferably ORACLE), 10-key

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Generate various reports from the inventory tracking system.
• Invoicing: Gather supporting documentation, prepare invoice packets, and generate and distribute customer invoices.
• Accounting Support: Support accounting for intercompany revenue transactions, capital projects, and fixed assets.
• Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and bank reconciliations.
• Analysis: Perform expense analysis and research payment discrepancies and other variances.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting or relevant bookkeeping experience, preferably including responsibility for company general ledger and financial statements.
• Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with ERP systems (preferably ORACLE), 10-key competency, strong written, verbal, and analytical skills, strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Bonus: Ability to build effective relationships across the organization while constructively challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
