Business Office – Accounting Clerk | D’Youville University

This role is crucial for supporting the accounting team by performing essential clerical and financial tasks, ensuring accurate data entry, organized documentation, and well-maintained, audit-ready financial records for the university.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Treasury Operations: Manage day-to-day treasury activities, including cash processing, cash reconciliations, and payroll funding.
• Credit Card Reporting: Assist with reviewing and reconciling monthly credit card reports.
• Journal Entry Processing: Prepare and enter basic journal entries, including reclassifications and monthly recurring entries.
• Grant & Lease Support: Provide entry-level support for grant accounting, reporting, and lease accounting.
• Financial Reporting Assistance: Assist with ad-hoc reporting for audits and monthly financial reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. An Associate’s degree in Accounting is preferred, alongside a basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger concepts.
• Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in accounting or general ledger work.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Bonus: Ability to work independently and handle sensitive financial information with integrity, as well as collaboratively with others.
