Accounting Clerk
A Boutique Litigation firm is seeking an immediate and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our head office team.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing & Invoicing: Prepare, review, and accurately send client invoices; meticulously track billable hours and disbursements to ensure timely and precise billing.
- Trust Accounting: Manage and maintain client trust accounts in strict compliance with all State Bar of California regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Efficiently process vendor payments, handle check requests, and accurately record all incoming client payments.
- Data Entry: Post financial transactions to appropriate ledgers using specialized legal accounting software, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations for all accounts and manage inter-account transfers to maintain financial clarity.
- Reporting: Assist with the meticulous preparation of essential financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports, contributing to informed decision-making.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with legal-specific accounting software (e.g., Clio, Tabs3, Aderant) and advanced skills in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles, accounts payable/receivable processes, and general ledger reconciliation techniques.
