What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Inquiries: Oversee the central accounting inbox, fielding and resolving inquiries within your scope while routing technical or complex matters to appropriate subject matter experts, ensuring all requests are addressed.
• Process Transactions: Accurately perform data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system in a timely manner.
• Handle Payments: Process daily cash applications of incoming payments, including ACH, Checks, and Virtual Credit Cards, and manage daily deposits from third-party payment platforms like Paypal and Merchant Lynx.
• Maintain Records: Prepare and distribute routine financial reports and summaries as directed, while maintaining organized and accurate physical and electronic filing systems for financial documents, invoices, and records.
• Support Month-End: Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end close activities, which includes entering journal entries, performing bank reconciliations, and gathering supporting documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Possesses a high school diploma or GED and basic knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial recordkeeping.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical finance role; relevant coursework or internships may substitute. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks. Solid data entry skills. Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business or a related field. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage, and familiarity with GAAP concepts.
