What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Accurately review and process vendor invoices, matching them with supporting documentation and resolving any discrepancies.
• Accounts Receivable: Prepare and record daily cash receipts, process bank deposits, and accurately apply customer payments within the accounting system.
• Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, including maintaining organized financial and corporate records.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare various reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and financial schedules as needed for the finance department.
• Month-End Assistance: Support month-end close activities, assist with account reconciliations, and contribute to audits and special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent. A basic understanding of accounting or bookkeeping principles is helpful.
• Experience: An Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Previous office, bookkeeping, customer service, data entry, or accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook; good working knowledge of Google Workspace; computer savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software; strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Bonus: Experience using accounting, bookkeeping, or ERP software, especially Sage BusinessWorks or other Sage accounting software; strong data-entry and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently while supporting a team; dependability, flexibility, and receptiveness to training and feedback.
