Accounting Assistant | HDR

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our diverse service lines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our daily accounting processes. Your contributions are vital to enabling HDR to continue its impactful work, from advancing clean water to building critical infrastructure, impacting communities around the world.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and documentation, directly supporting the firm’s operational efficiency and financial integrity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process vendor invoices accurately and on time within the accounting system, verifying all details, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Requisition Management: Create and submit purchase requisitions in accordance with company policies, monitoring their status and coordinating with procurement for timely processing.
• Transaction Reconciliation: Reconcile Procurement Card (PCard) transactions against receipts and supporting documentation, reviewing for policy compliance and proper accounting classification.
• Project Accounting Support: Assist project accountants with preparing and organizing client invoice documentation, while maintaining accurate and organized project accounting files.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve invoice discrepancies and assist with vendor inquiries, including following up with staff to obtain missing receipts and information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School diploma or equivalent, providing foundational knowledge for accounting support functions.
• Experience: No specific years required, but candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and accurate data entry.
• Bonus: Associate degree in Accounting; local candidates preferred.
