Accounting Assistant | Task Income Tax

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Task Income Tax, located in Connecticut, United States. What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Aid in the preparation and review of financial documents.
• Organize: Maintain and organize client files.
• Support: Provide assistance to the tax team with data entry and document verification.
• Update: Utilize accounting software to update financial records and generate basic financial reports.
• Coordinate: Respond to client inquiries and collaborate with senior staff to resolve discrepancies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A strong foundation in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to understand and apply basic accounting principles.
• Experience: Practical experience with Bookkeeping tasks, including detailed transaction recording, thorough account reconciliations, and accurate ledger maintenance. Demonstrated ability to work with and assist in the preparation and review of Financial Statements, such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Skills: Proficiency in Accounting Software and related tools used for data entry, reporting, and record management, including Microsoft Excel and other office applications. Strong numerical and analytical skills, paired with a high level of accuracy and organization. Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Bonus: Prior experience in tax preparation or public accounting, familiarity with U.S. tax regulations, and an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
