Crypto Accounting Analyst | SoFi

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at SoFi, a next-generation financial services company and national bank leveraging mobile-first technology to help millions of members achieve their financial goals. This position is vital for supporting the full accounting lifecycle for crypto-related activities within the growing SoFi Bank accounting team. • Team: SoFi Bank accounting team
• Mission: Own the accounting lifecycle for crypto-related activity, ensuring accuracy and compliance from close to audit support.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Word, general ledger systems, Workday Financials (nice to have)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workpaper & Account Analysis: Prepare complete workpapers explaining issues, procedures, and conclusions, while also analyzing accounts, journal entries, and ledgers for accuracy and completeness.
• Crypto Subledger Management: Review crypto subledger activity and transaction-level detail to ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Variance Resolution & Operations Alignment: Investigate reconciliation differences, escalate issues, and partner with Crypto Operations and other cross-functional teams to resolve variances and understand operational workflows.
• Month-End Close & Audit Support: Assist in monthly and year-end close processes, provide audit support, and prepare reports for management, external auditors, and SEC disclosures.
• Process & Control Enhancement: Support the enhancement and documentation of crypto accounting processes, internal controls, reconciliations, and policies, contributing to efficient operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or equivalent, with a solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures. This role is suited for early-career professionals seeking to develop accounting and operational skills.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required; however, a proactive, self-driven approach and a desire to learn are essential for investigating issues and supporting key accounting processes.
• Skills: Possess strong organizational, analytical, mathematical, and project management capabilities, alongside computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and general ledger systems.
• Bonus: Experience with Workday Financials, CPA certification, audit experience, or prior experience in digital assets, brokerage, payments, banking, or fintech accounting.
