The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HF Sinclair, an independent energy company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with operations across multiple states. The company produces and markets high-value light products, renewable diesel, lubricants, and provides transportation, terminalling, and storage services. This Accountant role is crucial for supporting the basic to moderately complex accounting and treasury assignments, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to company policies and procedures within the Accounting department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: You will prepare various accounting statements and reports, distributing them as necessary to relevant departments.
• Maintain: You will review, update, and maintain financial files and data on a periodic basis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze: You will perform various assigned analyses and assist in gathering and interpreting data for different projects.
• Process: You will enter various assigned data into systems and process assigned reports, incorporating new information as needed.
• Respond: You will respond to basic to moderately complex inquiries related to assigned duties, company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, solving problems as appropriate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. This is an entry-level position within the accounting domain.
• Experience: None typically required, however, one year of job experience may be required depending on location.
• Skills: Basic ability to perform accounting analysis, basic knowledge of Microsoft products, basic experience with accounting and maintenance software, and an entry-level understanding of accounting practices and procedures. You must also possess interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, along with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Bonus: Experience in revenue accounting, accounts payable, SAP FI/CO, SAP BI, and Coupa is preferred.
