What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Records: Prepare, review, and post journal entries and other accounting transactions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed account reconciliations, analyze variances, and investigate discrepancies to support accurate financial reporting, resolving outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Close Process Management: Participate actively in month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring all deadlines and reporting requirements are met efficiently.
• Financial Reporting Support: Prepare comprehensive financial analyses, schedules, and supporting documentation essential for both internal and external reporting needs, potentially assisting in financial statement preparation.
• Compliance and Audits: Assist significantly with internal and external audit activities by providing necessary documentation, clear explanations, and timely responses to all audit inquiries, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Process Improvement & Guidance: Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of enhanced accounting practices and controls, potentially providing guidance and assistance to less experienced accounting staff.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, providing a strong foundation in professional accounting responsibilities for a role operating with greater independence than entry-level positions.
• Experience: Requires 2+ years of accounting, finance, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrating a proven ability to perform professional accounting duties.
• Skills: Possesses a working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting practices, and account reconciliation processes. Demonstrates the ability to analyze complex financial information, identify trends, and effectively resolve accounting discrepancies. Exhibits strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. Holding a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or actively making progress toward a professional accounting certification is a significant advantage. Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audit activities is also highly valued.
