The Tone:
This is an early career role at A. O. Smith Corporation, with a hybrid work setting available in Haltom, TX or Appleton, WI. A. O. With approximately 12,000 employees globally, this role is crucial for performing various activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements, ensuring compliance with company and GAAP policies.

• Tech Stack: SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite, Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, and warranty expense account analysis.
• Record Keeping: Prepare bank reconciliations for all operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts.
• Expense Management: Assemble plant expense analysis, report updates to staff, and reconcile all expenses to budget.
• Compliance & Auditing: Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations, and provide internal financial and cycle count audits.
• Operational Support: Coordinate accounts payable, settle and close production orders, and assist as backup for payroll, daily invoicing, and sales updating.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, suitable for an Entry-Level professional.
• Experience: Internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis, along with experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, or NetSuite.
• Bonus: Manufacturing or inventory accounting exposure and SAP knowledge are a plus.
