• Mission: To provide essential accounting, finance, and analytical support to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance for the company’s Generation and Transmission functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations: Provide comprehensive accounting, finance, and analytical support for daily work activities, ensuring verification, control, and processing efficiency in respective areas.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, annual, and periodic financial statements, analyses, reports, and data requests for internal management and external entities.
• Compliance & Controls: Assist in ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations, and the FERC Chart of Accounts.
• Budget & Forecast Support: Contribute to the coordination, preparation, and administration of annual capital and O&M budgets, the operating plan, and the five-year financial forecast.
• System & Data Management: Design, complete, and maintain necessary spreadsheets and databases, while assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of accounting and financial application software.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles.
• Experience: Proven ability to support accounting activities including monthly and annual reporting, account reconciliations, service billing, inventory tracking, and grant reporting.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial statement preparation, data analysis, spreadsheet and database design, and understanding of GAAP, SOX, and FERC compliance.
• Bonus: CPA or other professional certification, experience with JD Edwards software, and prior utility accounting experience.
