What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Record Management: You will be responsible for preparing and meticulously maintaining accurate accounting records. This involves adhering strictly to established policies and procedures to ensure that all financial data precisely reflects BMHCC’s operating results and current financial position, which is vital for compliance and internal reporting.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: You will create and perform detailed analysis on various financial and operational data sets. This includes evaluating trends, identifying discrepancies, and providing insights that contribute to informed business decisions across the organization.
• Data Integrity Assurance: A key part of your role involves demonstrating the ability to evaluate and actively maintain the proper level of data integrity. This applies specifically within the data warehouses of all available financial information systems, ensuring reliability and trustworthiness of all financial information.
• System Proficiency and Application: You will leverage your computer proficiency with all System financial information systems. This encompasses utilizing core transaction systems, the decision support system, the data warehouse, and various PC Financial Application tools to effectively complete both internal and external work products and reports.
• Strategic Goal Attainment: You will be accountable for completing assigned goals, which are integral to the department’s objectives and contribute to the broader financial and operational success of Baptist Memorial Health Care.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates for this early-career role must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. Consideration will also be given to individuals with equivalent experience that demonstrates a strong foundation in financial principles and accounting practices essential for a healthcare environment.
• Experience: This position requires recent experience gained within a hospital setting, specifically in areas such as decision support, budget management, or general accounting functions. This ensures familiarity with the unique financial landscape of healthcare operations.
• Skills: Critical skills include the ability to create and execute in-depth analysis of financial and operational data, a strong capability in evaluating and maintaining data integrity within complex information systems, and advanced computer proficiency across various System financial information systems including core transaction platforms, decision support tools, data warehouses, and PC Financial Applications.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of experience within the broader healthcare industry, possession of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, or holding a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which signifies a high level of accounting expertise.
