What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close Leadership: Lead comprehensive month-end close activities specifically related to operations, which includes preparing journal entries, conducting thorough account analysis, and developing detailed explanations for variances observed in financial results.
• Cost Monitoring & Analysis: Proactively monitor and meticulously evaluate production-related costs, diligently identifying significant trends and underlying drivers that directly impact the overall financial performance of the organization.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Provide essential support for the organization’s annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes, contributing to the financial planning that guides operational decisions and strategic growth initiatives.
• Operational Partnership: Collaborate closely and effectively with operations teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data directly tied to inventory management and all production activity within the manufacturing environment.
• Inventory Management: Actively assist with crucial inventory control processes, including the coordination of cycle counts, participation in physical inventory observations, and the reconciliation of inventory records to maintain precise financial data.
• Performance Reporting: Analyze financial results comprehensively and translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership, delivering these insights through structured reporting and responsive ad hoc analysis to support informed decision-making.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a mandatory requirement for this position, with no exceptions. This role is well-suited for an early-career professional, including recent graduates.
• Experience: While a new graduate will be considered, candidates should demonstrate comfort and proficiency in working with large datasets, a critical aspect of financial analysis.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for success in this role, enabling effective data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
• Bonus: Some prior accounting experience is a plus, providing an immediate advantage in understanding financial processes and contributing to the team.
