The Role: Abrasive Blaster

As an Abrasive Blaster, you will undergo comprehensive training in surface preparation techniques. Your primary responsibility will be operating blast equipment to create an optimal profile on steel structures, ensuring proper adhesion of coating treatments to metal surfaces. The training provided will cover the safe use, maintenance, and operation of company-provided blast equipment.

You will learn to perform blast operations safely and effectively in a variety of challenging environments, including:

  • Tanks and voids
  • Elevated heights, utilizing staging, scaffolding, and lifting equipment such as hoists and scissor lifts

Must-Have Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to meet the following physical and environmental demands:

  • Ability to perform kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, stooping, and climbing on a daily basis.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Capability to perform overhead work.
  • Must be able to be clean shaven to properly wear a respirator.
  • Ability to perform work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions.
  • Comfortable and capable of working at extreme heights.
  • Ability to work in small, tight, confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work any shift to accommodate production needs.
