3D Artist (Game-Ready Assets) | Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima company
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima company. The company is a federal contractor that builds and delivers comprehensive services for government customers, including virtual training applications where these 3D assets will be used. This role directly supports the creation of critical game-ready assets, contributing to the company’s mission to support its Alaska Native Corporation shareholders and government projects. • Team: Reports to the Art Manager, collaborating with the Project Art Lead, technical leads, Subject Matter Experts, other artists, and software developers.
• Mission: Create and texture high-quality realistic & game-ready 3D assets for virtual training applications used in Unity/Unreal 3D.
• Tech Stack: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Jira (desired)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Create: Produce and texture high-quality realistic and game-ready hard-surface 3D models using photographs, schematics, and sketches.
• Collaborate: Work closely within a highly collaborative production environment alongside other artists, software designers, and developers.
• Adapt: Take guidance from the Art Manager, Project Art Lead, technical leads, and Subject Matter Experts, adapting quickly to changes in direction or project assignments.
• Review: Conduct peer-reviews of other artists’ work and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute: Assist with project planning efforts and estimate levels-of-effort for project tasks, including occasional travel for photoshoots and data-gathering.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate or bachelor’s degree in 3D Modeling, Animation, or a similar discipline.
• Experience: Proven experience building 3D models, UV unwrapping, and packing UV’s using Autodesk Maya. Demonstrated experience texturing 3D models in a realistic PBR style using Adobe Substance Painter. Prior experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot).
• Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, and Adobe Photoshop. Ability to create realistic PBR textures. Must present a portfolio of past game-related or real-time modeling experience. Must be a US Citizen.
• Bonus: At least 2 years of on-the-job experience. Familiarity with Jira for task and team management. Experience working within an Agile Scrum framework. Experience specifically with Unity 3D.
