About the Job:

This is an internship opportunity for a motivated individual to work with the engineering and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) departments at Sherwin-Williams’ new Global Research and Development facility located in Brecksville, OH.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Collaborate with engineering and EHS departments to develop systems and processes specific to the new Brecksville facility.
• Contribute to the consolidation of existing processes at the site.
• Work on and complete several practical projects, including:
• Developing preventative maintenance plans for equipment.
• Working on lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Listing confined spaces within the facility.
• These projects are designed to provide a strong foundation for a career in engineering and/or safety management.
• The role requires a motivated individual who is willing to learn and contribute actively to the team.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education (Required):
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university at the time of the internship, or be a recent graduate.
• Majoring in a STEM field, safety management, or an equivalent discipline.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

Knowledge & Experience (Required):
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for an employment visa status now or in the future.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint is essential.

Knowledge & Experience (Preferred):
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory facility is preferred.

Technical/Skill Requirements (Required):
• Demonstrates an organized approach to work.
• Possesses the ability to work effectively independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Capable of effectively communicating with coworkers and management.

Travel Requirements:
• Minimal travel is expected, typically 0-5% of the time spent away from home or the typical office location.
