Job Description: Medical Assistant
This is a combined job posting for Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered, and Medical Assistant positions within the Providence Medical Group, specifically for various clinics in Spokane (Downtown, North, South), Liberty Lake, and Spokane Valley, focusing on General Pediatrics & Pediatric Specialties. Role Summary:
Medical Assistants are a vital part of the care team, collaborating closely with licensed practitioners to deliver essential patient care.
Key Responsibilities (Administrative and Clinical):
• Maintaining accurate patient records.
• Preparing patients and examination rooms.
• Assisting physicians during exams and procedures.
• Taking vital signs, such as pulse and blood pressure.
• Updating patient information including medications, allergies, and other relevant data in medical records.
• Performing certain medical procedures, collecting specimens, and conducting lab testing.
Utilized Skills:
The role requires a combination of:
• Clerical computer and phone skills
• Customer service/people skills
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Hands-on clinical skills
Compensation & Benefits:
• A $2,500 Sign-on Bonus is offered for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet specific conditions, in addition to the comprehensive benefits.
• Additional compensation opportunities include shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
Specific Requirements and Salary Ranges for Each Role:
1. Associate Medical Assistant
• Required Qualifications:
• Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant school (including hands-on clinical training) OR graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR completion of two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant with clinical skills including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Certifications: Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire; National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: 0-6 months medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 months prior experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• 6 months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Salary Range (NE Washington): Minimum: $17.06, Maximum: $26.07 per hour. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hour or higher, depending on experience.
2. Medical Assistant Registered
• Required Qualifications:
• Certifications: Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire; National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: 6 months of healthcare experience and 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework/Training in Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary, or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk.
• Salary Range (NE Washington): Minimum: $17.06, Maximum: $26.07 per hour. Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hour or higher, depending on experience.
3. Medical Assistant
• Required Qualifications:
