The company is currently undergoing a reimagining of its vision and is looking for a Brand Manager to help lead this new chapter. It is described as a culture-led, Black-owned beauty brand.
Job Description
• Position: Brand Manager Intern
• Company: Pretty Mafia Raw Hair
• Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
• Type: Part-Time / Freelance
• Hours: Approximately 20 hours per month to start (flexible)
• Compensation: Starting at $150+ per month (based on experience and location)
About the Role:
This role is for a Brand Manager Intern who will be instrumental in shaping, growing, and scaling Pretty Mafia’s brand identity and presence. The Brand Manager will act as the link between strategy, storytelling, and execution, ensuring the brand’s voice, vibe, and message are consistent and impactful across all platforms. This is a crucial position for the brand’s transition into its next phase. The intern will work closely with the Founder, Creative Director, and Social Media Manager to execute ideas with clarity and consistency.
Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
• Define and maintain the brand voice, tone, and messaging.
• Shape the overall brand strategy and positioning.
• Create and manage brand guidelines and creative briefs.
• Build and organize content calendars, campaign themes, and story arcs.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure brand alignment.
• Support packaging copy, email tone, social captions, and influencer messaging.
• Track audience feedback and competitor trends to keep the brand fresh and growing.
• Provide input on branding for launches, partnerships, or product storytelling.
• Help Pretty Mafia evolve from a product to a cultural brand.

Required Qualifications (Who You Are):
• Experienced in brand development, marketing strategy, or creative communications.
• Strong in copywriting, storytelling, and brand messaging.
• Naturally in tune with culture, trends, and visual storytelling.
• Confident, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and clear in communication.
• Passionate about beauty, branding, and building something impactful from the ground up.
• Bonus: Experience with beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or purpose-driven brands.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
• Canva or light graphic design skills.
• Familiarity with Notion, Trello, or content planning tools.
• Experience with influencer campaigns, brand guides, or marketing calendars.
