About the Job: Service Technician Trainee Intern
What To Expect (Role Summary)
The Service Technician Trainee Intern is a hands-on, customer-facing role within Tesla’s service centers. As an intern, you will be involved in servicing customer vehicles and performing various tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn about electric vehicles and Tesla’s cutting-edge technologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills are desired due to the customer interaction involved. The role is suitable for motivated individuals willing to learn additional technical skills.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
• Perform entry-level work related to the inspection, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles.
• Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools as part of daily tasks.
• Conduct equipment inspections, adjustments, and certifications.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new vehicles to ensure quality and readiness.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of time, shop supplies, and parts.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of customer vehicles.
• Provide support for Parts and Front of House operations as needed, potentially on a rotational basis.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)
• Basic knowledge of methods and techniques used in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Current enrollment in an Automotive program is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to travel to a training location or local service center as needed.
• Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Familiar understanding of the English language.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Compensation and Benefits
The expected compensation for this full-time intern role is $23.75 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Pay may vary based on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
