Job Description
Job Family: Intern
Pay Type: Hourly
Compensation: Interns are paid $20.00 per hour.
Internship Details:
• Duration: Scheduled to run from Monday, September 15, 2025, through Friday, November 21, 2025.
• Schedule: Part-time, with candidates expected to work up to 20 hours per week.
• Location: Hybrid schedule, requiring interns to be in the office at least two days a week at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C. Fully remote applicants will not be considered.
• Academic Credit: Students may also receive academic credit if they meet their school’s criteria.
Position Overview (Legal Interns – ILR):
Legal interns will contribute to ILR’s efforts in implementing federal and state programs. This will involve legislative and legal research, memo writing, updating fundraising materials, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct specific issue-related research.
• Write analytical memos.
• Participate in ILR member task force calls, meetings, and other important events.
• Attend/watch and report on congressional hearings and events.
Qualifications:
• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate.
• Outstanding organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet navigation, and Outlook.
