Job Description, Detailed

This is for the 2026 Summer Associate Program. The program is designed to provide participants with a realistic experience of life as an associate at Fish.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
Patent Prosecution: Draft patent applications (for patent prosecutions summer associates).
Patent Litigation: Conduct research and draft memos for litigation cases (for patent litigation summer associates).
Client Interaction: Potential opportunities to attend client meetings, depositions, and even trials.

Who You Are (Qualifications):
Academic & Professional Excellence: A demonstrated record of academic and professional excellence, particularly in science or technology.
Writing Prowess: Possess superior writing ability.
Curiosity & Motivation: Curious and highly motivated to understand how things work.
Legal Standing: Currently in good standing as a law student at an ABA accredited law school.
Graduation Date: Anticipated graduation date of spring 2027.
Enthusiasm: Enthusiastic and eager to rise to challenges.
Team-Oriented: Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Special Requirement for Patent Litigation & Prosecution: A scientific or technical background (degree and/or experience) is required, in addition to excellent academic credentials and superior writing ability.
