Job Description

The 2026 Summer Associate Program at Fish offers an immersive experience into the daily life of an associate. The program is designed to provide participants with new insights through various activities, including training programs, drafting memos, and strategic discussions during working lunches.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

Draft patent applications for patent prosecution summer associates.
Conduct research and draft memos for litigation cases for patent litigation summer associates.
• Potentially attend client meetings, depositions, and even trials.
Explore the office’s city and experience local culture, guided by attorneys.
• Participate in a firmwide Summer Associate Retreat, which includes training, networking, and social activities.

Who You Are (Qualifications):

• You possess a passion for science, engineering, and intellectual property.
• You demonstrate a record of academic and professional excellence in science or technology.
• You have superior writing ability.
• You are curious and motivated to learn how things work.
• You are currently a law student in good standing at an ABA accredited law school, with an anticipated graduation date of spring 2027.
• You exhibit enthusiasm and eagerness to rise to challenges.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Specific Requirement for Patent Litigation and Patent Prosecution Summer Positions: A scientific or technical background (degree and/or experience), excellent academic credentials, and superior writing ability are required.

Salary:
The 2025 Summer Associate Salary is $4,327 per week.
